×Kilbride Branch Closure, June 28 to Sep 7
Kilbride Branch will be closed from 2pm on June 28 to September 7, reopening September 8.
The branch is closing for safety reasons while Halton District School Board completes several infrastructure and accessibility upgrades at Kilbride Public School. These upgrades affect the shared building entrance and the library's exterior wall.
Important Dates
- June 16: Last day to place holds for pickup at Kilbride Branch
- June 25 to September 8: Kilbride Branch exterior book drop is closed.
- June 27: Last open day at Kilbride Branch
- June 28: Kilbride Branch is closed.
- September 8: Planned reopening of Kilbride Branch
Nearest Open Locations
Kibride Branch book drop will not be available during the closure. You can return your items to any other BPL location. The nearest branch is Alton Branch (3040 Tim Dobbie Drive). Kilbride Branch customers planning to take part in BPL’s Summer Reading Club are encouraged to use this location.

Brant Hills Branch Closed, June 1 to July 5
The City is replacing the roof, HVAC, and lighting system in the building. The ceiling must be opened for this work, so the branch must close for that portion of the project. Brant Hills Branch is closed from June 1 to July 5 and will reopen July 6.

The nearest full-service branches are Tansley Woods Branch (1996 Itabashi Way) and Alton Branch (3040 Tim Dobbie Drive).
Returning Your Loans
Brant Hills Branch book drops will not be available during the closure. You can return your items to any other BPL location or hold onto your items until the branch reopens. If you have difficulty returning items to another library location, please call us at 905.639.3611 or use our Contact Us form for help.
Items on Hold
Unless you have changed your holds pick-up location, all Brant Hills customer holds will be paused during the closure and will automatically become active when the branch reopens. If you have an item on hold with a pick-up date that expires while the branch is closed, it will be paused until the branch reopens.
Pop-Up Programs
Regularly scheduled programs will not run during the closure, but we are offering two special programs for kids and families. Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Club while you’re here!
Family STEAM Time
- Dates & Times: Mondays, June 1 to June 29, 6-8pm
- Location: Mountainside Recreation Centre, Community Room 2, 2205 Mt Forest Drive, Burlington
Create, invent, and explore together with Miss Jamie through hands-on STEAM activities and imaginative loose parts play. Bring the whole family for an evening of creativity, curiosity, and fun.
Outdoor Family Storytime
- Dates & Times: Wednesdays, June 3 to June 24, 10-11am
- Location: Brant Hills Park, D1, behind the library
Read, write, talk, sing and play along with us at Family Storytime—OUTSIDE! Perfect for children ages 5 and younger and their grown-ups.
