BPL's 2025 Branch Big Borrows
A few times through the year, we love taking a look to see which books are flying off the shelves—and 2025 was a busy one. These are the physical titles our members borrowed the most from their local branches, keeping our shelves in constant motion!
The BIGGEST Borrows
Four of our mid-year top adult fiction titles finished the year strong: #1 The Crash by Freida McFadden (531 loans), #2 The Grey Wolf by Louise Penny (441 loans), #4 The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden (410 loans), and #7 The Women by Hannah Kristin (362).
Rounding out the remaining top ten fiction titles based on regular print edition loans in 2025 are #3 The Wedding People by Alison Espach (421 loans), #5 The Paris Express by Emma Donoghue (380 loans), #6 Nightshade by Michael Connelly (370 loans), #8 The Life Cycle of the Common Octopus by Emma Knight (361 loans), #9 Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall (360 loans), and #10 One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune (336 loans).
It's also interesting to note that our top adult fiction title tied for first place with our top adult non-fiction title, The Let-Them Theory by Mel Robbins (531 loans). Fiction usually tops our borrowing numbers, so it speaks volumes when so many readers reach for non-fiction that inspires self-improvement and more meaningful living. We're delighted to be part of your journey.
And while a handful of adult fiction titles were in high demand across the city, Burlington neighbourhoods had their preferences—take a look!
Thank you!
Every checkout, hold, and well-loved book tells the story of a community that’s curious, engaged, and passionate about reading. Thank you for making 2025 an incredible year of borrowing!
