It’s summer at the library—the season of reading! It’s the perfect time of year to unplug, slow down, and visit the library to find your next adventure. Read on to find out what’s new at your library this summer.
The Value of Your Library
Every day, people from across Burlington come through our doors seeking fun, learning, and community. We heard about what the library means to you through our annual customer satisfaction survey of more than 4,500 people.
- 94% believe the library has a positive impact on their life.
- 95% believe the library improves the well-being of the community as a whole.
- 94% agree that library staff provide good service.
Customers also gave us feedback on how we can improve our collections, spaces, and programs. We’re extremely grateful to our community for their input and support, and we’ll release the full results of the survey this fall.
More for Kids
New hands-on play and learning experiences have arrived at Tansley Woods, Alton and New Appleby branches! With support from generous donors, we are refreshing some of the most loved areas in our branches: our children’s areas. Customers can also look forward to upgrades at Central, Brant Hills, and Aldershot branches later this year.
Branch Closures
Summer is also the season of construction. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding during our branch closures this summer. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Brant Hills and Kilbride branches this fall.
The City of Burlington and Burlington Public Library are also preparing for the roof and HVAC replacement project at BPL’s Central Branch. The project is currently in early planning stages, and we’ll share updates with the community once the construction timeline is confirmed.
