Seven Spooky Things to Do at the Library This Fall
Burlington Public Library is kicking off spooky season with free Halloween events and activities for all ages. From October 1-31, visitors can meet Canadian authors, get creative with crafts, and discover special seasonal activities.
For Adults
From author talks to fun activities, there's a variety of ways to celebrate the fall season.
Vikki VanSickle in Conversation – Tuesday, October 20, 7:00-8:00 pm
Learn about the writing process behind VanSickle’s newest book, The Mystic and the Missing Girl, a charming small-town mystery. Free event, registration required.
Ghost Stories with Mark Leslie – Monday, October 26, 7:00-8:00 pm
From phantom vessels to lighthouse keepers who never abandoned their posts, Mark Leslie explores the haunted history of our Great Lakes. Free event, registration required.
The Midnight Borrowers Puzzle Mystery – October 1-31
In this escape-room-style adventure, solve puzzles, uncover clues, and search for hidden, enchanted library cards. This is a self-directed challenge, best suited for older teens and adults, and takes approximately one hour to complete.

Build a Spooky Village – Various dates in October
Design and decorate a building or structure for a Halloween village using cardboard and craft supplies.

Halloween Party & Parade – Saturday, October 31, 10:30-11:30 AM
Drop into your local branch for a spooktacular party full of music, crafts, games, and a costume parade!
