Burlington’s story is all about the people who have ever called this community home. It’s an important story about our shared heritage as Burlingtonians. With the help of past and present residents, BPL collects and safekeeps photographs through the Burlington Digital Archive, to preserve our memories for the enjoyment of generations to come. By sharing your photos, you are adding to Burlington’s story—and BPL’s digital collection!
To help build our digital collection, BPL will, from time to time, invite submissions related to specific community events and themes. Read about our current campaign—on now until March 31.
Photos that meet our collection criteria and are selected for the digital collection will be preserved in the Burlington Digital Archive, where anyone can view and download them.

Santa Claus Parade Photo Campaign
We are currently accepting submissions for this campaign until March 31, 2026.
The City of Burlington’s Santa Claus Parade is a longstanding tradition that sees the community come together during the holiday season. Many Burlington residents have fond memories of this parade, and we want to capture them by creating a digital photo collection for everyone to enjoy. You can be part of our first community-driven collection by submitting your photographs!
We are especially interested in photos from the Santa Claus Parade between 1960 and 2000, as these help us preserve the historical character of the event. Photos from 2000 to 2025 are also welcome, but please note that they may require additional review to ensure privacy and consent considerations are met.
We're looking for photographs that may include:
- Parade floats and parade participants (marching bands, dance troupes, performers in costume, etc.)
- Crowds and spectators
- Local businesses or organizations represented in the parade.
- Volunteers setting up or organizing the event
- Holiday decorations, buildings, and signs that are directly related to the Santa Claus Parade
- “Behind the scenes” preparations and setup
- Parade route maps
Questions about our Santa Claus Parade collection? Please don't hesitate to contact us!
Online Photo Submission Form
Please note, we are only accepting photos for the Burlington Santa Claus Parade collection at this time.
