Poetry in Flight with Barbara Tran
Spend an inspiring afternoon with poet and author Barbara Tran as she discusses her acclaimed debut collection, Precedented Parroting, and reflects on her creative process and the powerful stories behind her work.
Her collection was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award and Fred Cogswell Award for Excellence in Poetry and was named one of CBC’s Best Books of 2024.
This event is supported by the League of Canadian Poets, the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Department of Canadian Heritage. Sun April 19, 2-3pm – Register. CENTRAL

Ready to share your poetic work? It’s your turn in the spotlight at our Open Mic afternoon on Sunday, April 26.
Whether you write poetry, lyrics, or spoken word, this is your chance to connect with an appreciative audience in a relaxed, welcoming space. Sun April 26, 1-3pm – Doors open at 1pm for sign-up. CENTRAL
A Fond Farewell
As we celebrate National Poetry Month this year, we also say goodbye to Burlington Lyrics & Poetry Festival after a wonderful four-year run.
We’re proud of the community it helped build and look forward to offering more engaging author talks and literary events throughout the year.
Let your imagination soar, and your words flow!
