June is Pride Month, commemorating the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a tipping point for the 2SLGBTQ+ rights movement in North America. As we enter yet another year where we cannot come together physically to celebrate, we seek alternative ways to honour the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Show Your Pride with PFlag Halton: PFlag Halton is asking folks (2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies) to tell us what PRIDE means to you! Let’s light up social media with the community and representation we need right now. To participate, please go to the SHOW YOUR PRIDE link below and tell PFlag Halton what pride means to you - in whatever format you like - a story, pictures, a poem, in a video, etc! Everyone who participates in the campaign will be entered in random draws to win prizes.
Staff Recommendations: Under Related links below, you can find a bunch of staff-picked recommendations to help you read (or listen, or watch!) with pride and honour the resilience of 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
Pride Toronto Phygital Festival: A full month of digital programming by Pride Toronto, showcasing the extensive creativity and talent of Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities, including over 70 individual events, 14 party collectives, and seven community committee programs. Link below.

Pride Town Hall - Taking PRIDE in Our Community: This town hall will be specifically designed to reflect the results of a community needs-assessment survey on the Halton Pride Collective website (coming soon!). The purpose of this town hall is to call for further support for those in Halton who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at the municipal level through initiatives supporting safe housing, accessible mental health support, accessible gender-affirming gear, and so forth. We want to hear from YOU! Register in advance. Live on Zoom - 12-2pm.
