Major Roadwork – New St & Drury Lane

Highlights

Works to be completed: March to May 2017

Road segment: New Street from Guelph Line to Cumberland Avenue

Watermain installation will continue from Dynes Road to Cumberland Avenue. In addition, replacement of curb and gutter and boulevard restoration impacted by watermain works for this section.

There may be some disruption to water service during this work. Residents and businesses will be given 48 hours notice for scheduled shutdowns. Where possible, shutdowns will be completed at night.

Works to be completed: April to June 2017

Road segments:

  • Courtland Avenue–Woodland Avenue to Drury Lane
  • Tallman Avenue–Lorne Street to Drury Lane
  • Stinson Avenue
  • Drury Lane intersection at Prospect Street
  • Drury Lane from New Street to South of Prospect Street
  • New Street from Guelph Line to Martha Street

Resurfacing and/or top lift of asphalt and installation of speed humps (Courtland Avenue and Drury Lane) including associated catch basin and maintenance hole adjustments.

Burlington Transit Detours:
To help with the watermain work on New Street and Drury Lane there may be staged road closures and Burlington Transit detours. For questions about transit detours, please contact Garth Rowland, Supervisor of Transit Planning & Scheduling, 905.335.7869 ext 7362.

Potential library closures

During watermain replacement work, water service disruptions may call for closure of the library. The City of Burlington will provide at least 48 hours notice before any scheduled water shut down.

Central branch closure announcements will be posted on the library website and social media as soon as we know.
