Aldershot branch, in partnership with Food for Life, is Burlington's first community fridge location to complement four other Food for Life community program sites in the city. Twice weekly, Food for Life volunteers stock the fridge with pre-packed bags of fresh food for neighbourhood residents to take when they need it. As well, during the school year (Sep-Jun), students can pick up healthy food items provided by Halton Food For Thought.
Food items are available as supplies last and no pick-up appointment is necessary. Following the Library’s COVID-19 safety practices, on arrival at Aldershot branch customers may enter the branch to self-serve from the fridge or may ask staff for help with curbside delivery. Please remember: a properly worn face mask or covering is required attire at the library for everyone's safety.
Food for the community fridge is provided by Food for Life and Halton Food for Thought only. The Library does not accept food donations for the community fridge. Other worthy organizations in the community will welcome your food donation—see Related links below for information
Aldershot branch is open every day except holidays: Mon to Fri, 10am-7pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun noon-5pm.
Donated time and dollars make a difference
