Programs for Growing Readers

Storytimeswood blocks

We have fun-filled storytimes for your little ones ... and they're free! Important: Age limits are strictly observed because each program is created specifically for its related age group.

Programs for Grade School Readers

Paws 4 Storiesdog

Reading should be fun! By reading to a furry friend, children can improve their reading skills and increase their confidence, interest, and enjoyment in reading. Every Paws 4 Stories dog is specially trained to sit quietly and listen while your child reads aloud to it.

TD Summer Reading Club for Kids (SRC)

Starting at the end of the school year in June, we help parents keep their kids reading all summer long - to give them a great start to the new school year. All about the summer reading club

Reading & Maker Buddies

Reading & Maker Buddies is a free weekly reading support program offered in July and August that pairs children with trained and caring teen volunteers who love to read and make things.

Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a tournament that mixes books, fun and friendly competition between schools in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. Local competitions run in each municipality and the local champions compete in a regional tournament. Battle of the Books has been a Burlington Public Library tradition since 1986.

Book Clubs

Kids enjoy great books and lively discussion—and sometimes a craft or a snack! Kids book clubs vary by location.
