Computer Basics | Get started using a computer.

  • Learn the basic parts of a computer, practice your mousing skills, navigate Windows and the computer’s desktop, and practice basic Internet skills in this course designed for those new to using computers and those that need a refresher.

Managing Your Files | Use your computer more efficiently.

  • Learn how to manage the files on your computer by gaining a deeper understanding of file structure and hierarchy in a computer, how to use Windows Explorer, how to create folders and move files, use external storage devices, and upload/download to and from the Internet.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills.

MS Word I | An overview of main word processing features.

  • An introduction to word processing skills, including the organization or the ribbon, frequently used keys, correcting errors, moving and copying text, changing the appearance of your text, and saving your work.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills.

MS Word II | Learn time-saving short cuts & more.

  • Expand your word processing skills. Learn time-saving keyboard shortcuts, how to create lists, inserting tables, and inserting and formatting pictures.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills.

MS Word III | Learn advanced word processing skills.

  • The final class in this introductory series explores modifying the page setup, inserting headers and footers, spell check, and creating a table of contents.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills and experience.

MS Excel I | Organize information using spreadsheets.

  • An introduction to spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel 2010, a program that allows you to store, organize, and manipulate data. The class covers basics of working with spreadsheets, entering data into cells, and formatting your work.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills and experience using MS Word.

MS Excel II | Increase your proficiency using this popular software.

  • Continuing with the basics, learn how to work with Excel’s preset functions, create formulas, and understand error messages.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills and experience using MS Excel.

MS Excel III | Create and format charts and tables.

  • The last class in this introductory series reviews formulas and functions, and introduces creating and formatting charts and pivot tables.
  • Skill prerequisite: Strong mousing/good typing skills and experience using MS Excel.

MS Excel for Business | Geared to small business entrepreneurs.

  • Learn about advanced mathematical functions, data analysis, pivot tables, and pivot charts. Geared to students with previous MS Excel experience who want to use it in a business context.
  • Skill prerequisite: A solid understanding of entering data into cells, formatting cells, and working with formulas and functions.

MS PowerPoint | Create effective & attractive visual presentations.

  • Covers the basics of using MS PowerPoint to create presentations, including adding and formatting slides, slide transitions, adding notes.
  • Skill prerequisite: Good mousing and typing skills.
