Using BPL Website

Welcome to our website!

With our website, your online library experience is now better than ever. Searching is simpler and you can find the library information you want with ease. There's a site especially for kids and parents—and a literary blog. Plus, a friendly  catalogue that makes finding your next great read (or anything in our collection) and managing your library account even better.

  • Catalogue: Along with launching our new website, we also have a new catalogue. You may access the new catalogue through EXPLORE located in the main menu, or in the top SEARCH menu.
  • Easy searching: Now you can search the library's online Catalogue, the BPL website, and the Events calendar—all from the top SEARCH menu.
  • Accessing & setting up your library account: Click/tap the yellow ‘Log In / My BPL’ button located at the top of your screen. You need to setup a NEW library account called My BPL, which replaces your 'old' My Account. Step-by-step instructions are at the bottom of this page.
  • Signing in to checkout kiosks, paying fines online & using the public computers: Please use your library barcode instead of a username to sign in or pay online.
  • Placing holds on individual magazine issues: You can no longer place holds yourself on individual issues through the catalogue; however, you can call us and staff will be happy to place a hold on a magazine issue for you. Alternatively, visit your local branch where current issues are displayed and available to read in the library in comfort—or read your favourite national and international magazines and newspapers online through RB Digital and Pressreader.
