Volunteering at the Library

From time to time, Burlington Public Library has volunteer opportunities available for people who wish to lend a helping hand.

The public library serves people of all ages and abilities in our community. Library volunteers help our staff provide much-needed services and popular programs, such as delivering books and movies to seniors' residences, running craft programs for youth, and helping with library projects as a Teen Advisory Board member, to name just a few.

If you have an application currently on file, please watch for opportunities posted on the web. Contact the hiring manager listed on the volunteer posting if there is a current opportunity for which you would like to be considered.

Applications are kept on file for a period of six months from the date of receipt. Only applicants receiving serious consideration will be contacted for an interview.

Download a volunteer application form or pick up one at any library location. Please return your completed application form to Customer Service, 1st floor Central Library, or to any branch location.

For all volunteer applicants 19 years of age and older: an offer is conditional upon receipt and review of an original Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
