TD Summer Reading Club for kids

June 28 to August 24

Here there and anywhere! Journey to places near and far, from the backyard to the other side of the world by any means you can imagine. Explore places, people, and things from all around the world. Celebrate travel!

Preschool Club
For young readers up to age 5

Pick up a passport/reading log at any library location and join in the fun. Read 12 books over the summer and earn prizes along the way. For every 3 books you read, you get a small reward.

Summer Readers
For full-time school students ages 6+

You get to choose! In your passport/reading log you can track either the number of books you read or the number of hours you read. Your goal is to read 12 books or read for 12 hours over the eight-week summer program. That's just a book and a half, or 90 minutes of reading every week. You can do it! For every 3 books or 3 hours you read, you get a prize!

Why the summer reading club is important

Studies have proven that practice is a very important component of maintaining and improving reading skills, so we feel that by participating in the summer reading clubs your child will not fall behind his/her peers. Since this is their chance to read whatever they want to, at their reading level, they will have fun.

We will be asking some questions of our participants to help us make this long-running program an even greater success and we do need to learn some basic statistics from each participant. Parents may be asked to complete a survey to help us plan for the future.
