Library Outreach

We don’t want the public library to be the best kept secret in town!

Whether you’re teaching an eager bunch of children about the joys of reading, coordinating speakers for a club or department meeting, or organizing a community event—we welcome the opportunity to come out to your class, meeting, or event to promote the public library.

We’ll work with you to identify what information would benefit your audience and target our presentation or display to meet these needs.

Please contact Laura Williams, Outreach Coordinator, or your local branch, to arrange an outreach visit. Call Laura at 905.639.3611 ext 1205 or email williamsl@bpl.on.ca.

Let us visit you at your location! Call us to arrange a visit by library staff to your preschool, school, or camp.

Share our enthusiasm as we describe a variety of books for different age groups and interests, and hear about programs we offer that would suit your audience.

Invite us to your community event and we'll show you and the community what Burlington Public Library has to offer.

We gear our information and display to your event audience. We are equipped to handle all sorts of events—indoors or outdoors—and we welcome opportunities to offer storytimes or crafts.

Contact us to talk about how we can help make your community event extra special!

Our knowledgeable and engaging speakers cover a wide variety of topics of interest to local organizations and clubs, such as:

  • Have the library come to you! - Visiting Library Services
  • The public library - great value for your tax dollars
  • Make the most of the Web!
  • Read any good books lately?
  • What's new in kids' books?
  • Whiz kids surf faster, better, safer
  • Your baby needs books!

Please contact us for more information on booking a speaker from the library.
