Forest of Reading - Burlington Public Library offers different reading programs from the Ontario Library Association's Forest of Reading™ – Blue Spruce, Silver Birch, Red Maple, and White Pine. Mathieu Da Costa Challenge The Mathieu Da Costa Challenge is an annual creative writing and artwork contest launched in 1996 by the Department of Canadian Heritage. The Challenge encourages youth to discover how diversity has shaped Canada ’s history and the important role that pluralism plays in Canadian society.

World Literacy of Canada's Write / Right to Read This national writing and drawing contest aims to improve literacy skills and create global citizens. Using Kenneth Oppel's opening, complete your 300 word story incorporating the contest's theme of tolerance and acceptance. Please visit the website for full contest details.

Girl Guides of Canada Book Club - Girl Guides of Canada Book Club has book recommendations and reviews from girls all over Canada. Each month there is an opportunity for kids to win a free copy of next month's book.
