2009 Battle of the Books

Congratulations to all of the teams who competed in the Battle of the Books at Burlington Public Library. Ten Senior Teams and twelve Junior Teams played in the round robins with four teams from each age group going on to compete for the Burlington Champions. Everyone played wonderfully!

The four Senior Teams that played in the finals on Wednesday April 29th were Charles R. Beaudoin, Fern Hill, Holy Rosary and St. John! The four Junior teams that played in the finals on Thursday April 30th were Central, Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Elizabeth Seton, and St. John.

After the two Burlington teams played wonderfully at the Halton Regional Battle of the Books Competition in Milton on Thursday, May 7th, the winner of the Senior Halton Championship Battle was our very own Charles R. Beaudoin!!!!! Congratulations!

The Junior Halton Championship Battle which included our junior team St. Elizabeth Seton, had a nailbiting finale. It was won by Guardian Angels School of Oakville by a mere three point spread... What excellent performances by our Burlington teams!
