  • Bibliofind
    Bibliofind has combined with Amazon.com to provide millions of rare, used, and out-of-print books. If it's out of print or rare check this site for an antiquarian bookseller.
  • chapters.indigo.ca
    Canada's two biggest bookstores have merged.
  • International League of Antiquarian Booksellers
    It speaks for twenty nations and 2000 leading booksellers throughout the world. Its emblem stands for integrity and professionalism in the rare book trade.

  • Book Lust
    Nancy Pearl's Book Lust Wiki - a community for book lovers.
  • Bookyards
    A large selection of free digital books, ebooks, and journals, plus a large collection of reference materials and educational resources for your educational and personal interests. Included books, Web links, blogs, news.
  • Canadian Poetry
    A comprehensive list of Canadian poets complete with biographies, bibliographies, awards and interviews. Compiled by the University of Toronto Library.
  • Canadian Poetry Archive
    Features selected poems from over 100 early English and French language Canadian poets, including biographies. The website has been archived in the Electronic Collection of Library and Archives Canada.
  • Complete Works of William Shakespeare
    Note that the poetry section is not currently available.
  • Contemporary Hamilton Authors

  • Digital Book Index

    A non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining an on-line library and archive of Web, texts and multimedia resources.
  • Literature Network
    Full-text of over 1900 classic novels and over 3000 short stories and poems by over 250 authors, all out of copyright. There is also a Shakespeare, Bible and Quotations section.
  • Live Search Books
    Microsoft's BETA release makes tens of thousands of out-of-copyright books available from their library scanning initiative, including books from the University of California, the University of Toronto, and the British Library.
  • Online Books Page
    When your local library is closed and you need to read a particular book, check this site for copyright-cleared digital texts - including Shakespeare and Dickens.
  • Open Content Alliance

  • The Open Library
    The Open Library website was created by the Internet Archive to demonstrate a way that books can be represented online. It offers free web access to important book collections from around the world. Books are scanned and then offered in an easy-to-use interface for free reading online.

    Project Gutenberg is the Internet's oldest producer of free electronic books, as eBooks or eTexts, now with more than 6267 titles.
  • ReadPrint.com
    A selection of public domain novels, short stories and poems. Well organized with photos and bios of each writer. Focuses on works of the literary canon.
  • UVA Library Texts in the Digital Collections Repository
    Public domain ebooks formatted for the web, as well as handheld devices from the University of Virginia.

    CBC’s online destination for Canadians who love books.
  • World Digital Library
    The World Digital Library (WDL) makes available on the Internet, free of charge and in multilingual format, significant primary materials from countries and cultures around the world.
