Land records can be a unique source for revealing family relationships. They provide evidence of an ancestor’s residence at an exact date, and the types of transactions can reflect his economic circumstances. The subject's occupation is usually stated, as well as the ancestor’s signature.

Halton Land Registry Office

The Halton Land Registry office provides registration and client self-serve search services under the Registry Act and the Land Titles Act for the geographical area of Halton. The land registration records are fully automated. Access to electronic registration and to electronically searched automated records is available from this office.
