Libraries are a constant in our lives; from the first story-time visit to a public library, to learning about the internet and e-resources in the school library, to spending countless hours immersed in research at the college or university library, to a return to the public library to begin the job search – and beyond! Libraries are one of our most valuable community resources – we encourage you to support candidates who are willing to invest in libraries!

Your public library needs the support of the province of Ontario. When candidates for the provincial election come to your door or telephone you - please ask them the following question:

“I understand the province of Ontario froze grants to public libraries in the mid 1990s. My public library and my community has grown incredibly since the mid-1990s and my public library is important to me, my family and my community. If elected, what concrete steps will you take to fix this funding gap of 15 years?”
